In September 2022, a customer of BANCO SANTANDER in La Prat de Llobregat (province of Barcelona) suffered a phishing scam consisting of two unauthorised payment transactions charged to his debit card, after being deceived into obtaining the security credentials of his online platform and his debit card number.  The amount of the theft amounted to 6,000 euros
