BANCO SANTANDER PHISHING. RECOVERS MORE THAN €5,900 STOLEN
In november 2023, a client from Alicante recovered more than 5,900€ for an unauthorised debit card payment after claiming with Palomar Abogados
In October 2023, a customer of BANCO SANTANDER in the city of Alicante suffered a phishing scam consisting of carrying out an unauthorised payment operation charged to her debit card, after her numbering data was captured and her terminal was hacked. The amount of the economic loss amounted to 5,990 euros.
After entrusting the case to the professional law firm Palomar Abogados, we prepared an out-of-court complaint letter in which we technically explained to the bank the reasons why BANCO SANTANDER should be civilly liable for the financial theft suffered by the bank customer, and explained to the bank that it was responsible for the security breach incurred in the customer authentication system.
At the same time, in the aforementioned letter we warned BANCO SANTANDER of the imminent filing of a legal action.
The negotiation opened as a result of the claim was successfully concluded. The negotiation approach carried out by Palomar Abogados against BANCO SANTANDER, and its professional execution, resulted in BANCO SANTANDER reimbursing our client in November 2023 the full amount of the 5,990 euros that had been stolen. In short, the client recovered the entire amount of his claim, without even requiring him to go to court, thanks to the legal intervention of Palomar Abogados, obtaining the amount of 5,990 euros.
