EVO BANCO. PHISHING. WE RECOVER 5.000.-€

Palomar Abogados leads the recovery of more than 5,000€ stolen from the client who is a victim of bank phishing

In May 2022, an EVO BANCO customer from Palencia received a phone call from a cybercriminal using the technique called "spoofing", through which he pretended to be an EVO BANCO Customer Service employee.

 

The scammer, using the excuse of solving certain security incidents of the customer, asked for his security credentials. He then carried out a series of manipulations on the affected person's online banking, which culminated in several withdrawals of money at ATMs and online purchases, charged to his debit card, which exceeded 5000 euros.

 

Our client was in the most absolute helplessness, since in June 2022 EVO BANCO told him that the money was not refunded, and in October 2022 the Bank of Spain also expressed its opposition to the refund of the amount.

 

In March 2023, the client went to Palomar Abogados. We received his explanations, and we were able to give the appropriate orientation to the fraud of which he had been a victim. 

 

We launched a complaint process, which we started with an out-of-court complaint letter to EVO BANCO. From there, in just a month and a half we managed to get the return of the more than 5000 euros that had been stolen from him
