In May 2022 a cybercriminal committed a phishing scam against a customer of EVO BANCO branch in Palencia.

Scamer made use of the spoofing technique, which consisted on making a phone call pretending to be an employee  of the bank, and using the real phone number of the bank´s Customer Service.

Using the excuse of solving certain technical incident, he got from the client his security personal credentials. Then, he carried out manipulations into the online bankink service, ending up in several money withdrawals at ATMs as well as online purchases that were charged to his debit card account, exceeding such overall theft 5000.-€.

EVO BANCO rejected client´s claim, and thus he had to contract our legal services. 

Palomar Abogados gave him appropriate guidance and launched claim process by sending EVO BANCO an out-of-Court claim letter. Thank to that negotiating procedure, EVO BANCO finally returned its client the 5.000.-€-amount that had been stolen. You can check it in the attached document.
